BrainFleck ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Brainbite mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

We comply with Google Play Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Policy, and other applicable global data privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Data Provided by You

When you register for an account, log in, or edit your profile, we collect information that identifies you, including:

  • Account Credentials: Email address and password.
  • Profile Information: Username, profile picture URL, or display name.
  • OAuth Providers: If you choose to log in using third-party services like Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, we receive basic profile info (email address, full name, and unique authentication identifier) as permitted by those platforms' privacy settings.

B. User-Generated Content

To provide core application features, we store:

  • Custom Quotes and Facts: Any custom facts, quotes, or notes you create within the App.
  • Favorites & Collections: Quotes or facts you mark as favorites or save to your collections.
  • Custom Themes: Visual themes, colors, or custom backgrounds you save.

C. Device Permissions

To provide specific features, the App may request access to:

  • Photo Library / Gallery (Read/Write): Used to select images for custom profile photos or custom theme backgrounds, and to save generated quote images directly to your device's photo gallery (using packages like image_picker and gal).
  • Notifications: Used to send you daily quote reminders and push notifications (if opted-in).

D. Device and Usage Data (Collected Automatically)

When you access the App, we or our third-party services may collect:

  • Device attributes (model, operating system, unique device identifiers, language, and network status).
  • Log and usage information (screens viewed, interaction duration, search terms, and feature actions).

2. Third-Party Service Providers (Data Processors)

To support the App's functionality, we integrate several SDKs and third-party services:

  • Authentication & Infrastructure (Firebase): We use Firebase Authentication and Firebase database services to manage secure sign-ins and sync user data.
  • Analytics & Performance (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics): We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash logs to monitor app stability and improve features.
  • Push Notifications (OneSignal): We use OneSignal to deliver reminders. OneSignal collects your notification token and basic device details.
  • In-App Purchases & Subscriptions (RevenueCat): For Brainbite Pro features, RevenueCat manages billing validation. We do not collect or store your payment card details; these are processed securely by Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS).
  • Advertisements (Google AdMob): For non-Pro users, we display ads. AdMob collects advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID or Apple IDFA) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. You can manage ad personalization in your device settings. See Google's Privacy & Terms.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

  • Manage your account and authenticate access.
  • Synchronize your custom facts, favorites, and themes across devices.
  • Deliver reminders and push notifications.
  • Process subscription upgrades (Pro status).
  • Provide relevant advertising.
  • Diagnose crashes and optimize app performance.

4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share information with third-party processors as described above to run the App, or if required to do so by law.

5. Account Deletion and Data Deletion Rights (Google Play Compliant)

We respect your ownership of your data. You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:

  • In-App Deletion: Go to the Settings screen, tap Delete Account, and confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your credentials, custom facts, favorites, custom themes, and all associated personal data from our servers.
  • Web-Based Request: If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion online by visiting our Data Deletion Request Page: https://brainbite.brainfleck.app/delete-account or by emailing us directly at brainfleck@gmail.com.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt steps to remove such data from our servers.

We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
